Elizabeth Sargent, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Forensic Psychology Fellow

Dr. Sargent earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. She worked for two years as a Research Assistant and Clinical Research Coordinator for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, supporting clinical trials for technology-based mental health treatments. Dr. Sargent earned her M.A. (2020) and Ph.D. (2023) through Loyola University Chicago. During graduate training, she conducted research related to adolescent community violence, trauma, and callous-unemotional traits. Dr. Sargent completed a variety of graduate-level clinical training rotations with experience in college counseling, neuropsychological assessment, individual and family therapy in juvenile probation, and forensic assessment in juvenile and child protection courts. Dr. Sargent completed her predoctoral internship with a forensic emphasis in Bakersfield, California, working primarily with an adult conditional release program and juveniles in a detention facility. Dr. Sargent began her forensic postdoctoral fellowship with the Wisconsin Forensic Unit in 2023, where she is completing advanced training in competency evaluations and restoration to competency treatment.
