Dana Stuefen, MSW, LCSW achieved both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Ms. Stuefen’s studies were primarily specialized in forensic mental health treatment, earning her an additional Certificate in Criminal Justice.  While in Dane County, Ms. Stuefen provided juvenile supervision services for high-risk youth for the Department of Human Services.  She also spent time working for the District Attorney’s Office, conducting social history interviews, psycho-educational classes and case management services for individuals entering a deferred prosecution agreement.  During her graduate studies, Ms. Stuefen had the opportunity to provide individual and group therapy as an inpatient forensic social worker at Mendota Mental Health Institute, working on both medium and maximum-security units.  After completing her studies, Ms. Stuefen then relocated to the Milwaukee area and began her career working in emergency and forensic mental health services.

Ms. Stuefen has a wide range of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with both adults and adolescents.  She is also skilled in several different evidenced-based therapeutic interventions and is prepared to work with individuals of diverse needs and backgrounds.  Ms. Stuefen joined the Behavioral Consultants, Inc. team in March of 2018.  In her role as a Behavioral Specialist, she is responsible for providing psycho-educational therapy for both adult and juvenile defendants. In her role as the Assistant to the Director, her duties include meeting with incarcerated participants recently ordered to treatment to competency, conducting Intake Assessments and assisting the JBCR Clinical Director in service delivery decisions, acting as a resource for the Behavioral Specialists, and fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships with contracted jails and their staff.
